Tay Basham — Barber

Hailing from the gold paved sidewalks of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Tay began chopping locks in his parents garage at the age of 15, trying to fix the bowl cut his Mother had inflicted on his sibling and from there his passion grew.

Once he realised backup dancing for Usher was never going to leave the lounge room he set his sights towards his second career choice, Barbering.

Happily married with two daughters, 5000BC has become his oasis and a banter box of all things sports.

Jimmy De Jesus — Barber

Born and raised in the inner west, Jimmy spent most of his younger years doing stunts on his BMX and playing rugby league in the local and state comp. His passion for hair took off when he was only 14 years old, cutting his mates hair as well as his own. Starting his hairdressing apprenticeship when he was only 17 years old.

You may recognise him from his part time acting stint on Narcos Season One as "Limon".

Jimmy is often heard laughing at his own jokes and boasting about his three furbabys or his new found love of crossfit.

One of New Zealand’s finest, JB’s passion for trimming lids stemmed from his victory in the prestigious Timaru sheep shearing competition which is world famous in New Zealand.

After conquering sheering, JB realised that fiddling with sheep was only going to take him so far. He then made the jump across the ditch to pursue greater opportunities. After a short stint grooming the sheep at The Royal Easter Show, he thought to himself there must be more to life. His ambition of becoming a barber came to fruition.

Bringing a young and fresh perspective, he is an exciting up and coming talent. JB has developed a range of skills whilst also having an in-depth understanding of traditional and contemporary hairstyles. He aims to bridge the gap between traditional barbering and the modern hair industry.

Josh has emerged from humble beginnings, raised in his family’s luxurious caravan amid the lush fields of Windsor, England.

Over the past few years, he’s been found either behind the decks at some of Ibiza’s premier nightclubs or behind the chair in a few questionable barbershops. Seeking a change of pace, the golden shores of Bondi Beach called his name. Now, you can spot him strolling through the Eastern suburbs in his Birkenstocks, jorts, white tee and almond milk ice latte in hand.

As a devoted member of Sydney’s Tottenham Hotspurs supporters club, he’s often seen shedding a tear into his pint after yet another dismal performance by his beloved Spurs.

Infusing 5000 BC decorum and banter, this mild-mannered Brit brings a fresh perspective to the barbering scene, ready to elevate your experience to the next level.
